Public Rights of Way
Little Oakley Parish Council is not directly responsible for footpaths and bridleways in the village but if you feel there is an issue with any Public Right of Way, please contact the Clerk so that we can follow it up with the appropriate authority.
In February 2025, contractors were engaged to re-widen the public right of way between Oak Ridge and the Memorial Club. Since the footpath was laid with road planings some 15 years ago, it had narrowed in places to less than one metre. It has now been returned to its original 1.8m. More road planings were used to fill in any dips to prevent pooling of water.
Skylarks
We encourage walkers to keep to the footpaths and keep dogs on a lead, or under very close control, to avoid disturbing ground-nesting birds (eg Skylarks) during their critical breeding season (February to September). This will also avoid crop damage.

Please 'pick-up' after your dog.
Thank you. We hope you (and your dog) enjoy your walk.
